To those who follow me in my social media accounts already know that my family and I went to Australia for vacation. It was actually our long overdue honeymoon (2 years in the making!) and Paolo's post birthday gift for me (insert blushing emoticon here). We stayed in Australia for a total of 9 days and I am very much excited to share to your how we were able to manage, survive and enjoy each and every day of our vacation.
Easter Sunday, March 27, we arrived in Sydney after our 8 hour flight from Manila. Having ZERO SLEEP, Paolo and I decidd to spend the day catching up on our sleep in our good friend's (Fenrich) house. By 6 PM, Fenrich brought us to Criniti's Restaurant at Darling Harbor, to have an initial taste of Sydney's mouthwatering dishes and have a sight of the Darling Harbor as well.
We had to sleep early that night to prepare for our 9 AM flight to Melbourne the next day. Melbourne was not a part of our ITI however, I forced Paolo so we could have a glimpse of what the city has to offer. At around past 10 in the morning, we arrived in Best Western Hotel Atlantis (that we got at 69AUD / Php 2200+ a night!!) which is a few minute walk from the Skybus Terminal located at the Spencer Train Station.
We gave Leon a couple of hours to sleep (he was really tired and puyat from all the traveling) before we head out for a stroll in Melbourne. My good friend since High School, Jessa, who is now based in Melbourne came over to pick us up and brought us to Luna Park and St. Kildes Beach.
Since we were super starving, Jessa brought us to (Japanese Resto) for lunch. Since Leon would only eat rice, the resto was probably the best choice amng the ones located near Luna park. The food actually tastes better there.
The tour around Luna Park was refreshing. Leon went crazy over the pigeon and the seagulls and happily chased them whenever he saw one. We did not get the chance to ride as we have a toddler to chase around but the tour was pretty good. We walked to St, Kildes beach after where we first experienced to walk in a beach in a very chilly weather. As usual, Leon went crazy over the seagulls -- that he kept on calling ducks and chased them around.

Jessa brought us to the CBD to have our other friends, Carlo and Dandy (her boyfriend) join us for some walk and dinner. They brought us to a Korean BBq restaurant (the BEEF is amazing!!!) and had coffee at Max Brenner shortly after. Shops are closed at around 6PM in Melbourne so the night ended relatively early for us. It was a wonderful first day in Melbourne and we were so glad to have experienced it all.
Well, that would be all for my First day in Melbourne post! Will definitely make more kwento for the next days we stayed there.
